(Without spending all day on it)
You don’t need to post every morning, invent memes, or learn hashtags. You’re running a local business—not becoming a social media guru.
But if you do want your Facebook Page to support your ad campaign (and help people trust you), here are a few simple things that make a real difference.
1. Post Once a Week
That’s enough. A photo, a short update, a new product, a tip, an offer—just something real. It shows that your business is alive and active.
Don’t overthink it. Don’t over-edit it. A quick post from your phone is fine.
2. Be Human
No marketing speak. No “Dear Valued Customers.”
Write like you talk. That’s what people connect with.
Try something like:
“Two more appointments left this week—give us a ring if you want one.”
3. Use Photos from Your Real Life
Your shop. Your hands. Your van. Your work. Your coffee machine.
People love seeing the actual you.
Don’t worry about quality. A slightly messy, honest photo is 10x better than a stock image.
4. Pin a Good Post to the Top
If you’ve got a great review, a nice photo, or an offer—pin it. That way, people who land on your Page from an ad will see something useful straight away.
5. Reply When You Can
It doesn’t have to be instant, but if someone leaves a comment or sends a message, try to reply within a day or two. It makes a big difference.
A Few More Things That Help
- Add your website link and phone number
- Check your “About” section is accurate
- Upload a profile photo that clearly shows your business (logo or storefront is fine)
That’s Plenty Already
If you’ve got a clean Page, one or two recent posts, and a pinned offer—that’s more than enough.
You’re not trying to go viral. You’re just showing people you exist—and that you’re real.
