You’ve probably wondered this at some point:
“I already have a Facebook profile… do I really need a business page as well?”
Fair question. Especially if you’re a one-person business. A plumber. A tutor. A dog groomer. You’re not starting a brand, you’re just trying to get some clients and make a living.
So why bother with a Page?
Because it makes you look like a business.
Even if you’re a sole trader, your online presence still matters.
A Facebook Business Page is basically your digital shop window. It says:
- “This is a real business.”
- “Here’s what I do.”
- “Here’s how to contact me.”
It’s free. It takes five minutes to set up. And people expect to see it — especially if you’re going to run any ads or be shared around locally.
Even if you only ever post once a month (“Here’s a bathroom we just finished”), it builds trust.
But what’s the actual difference between a Page and a Profile?
Your Profile = You
It’s where you share birthday wishes, holidays, and post in local groups. It’s personal. And it’s not really built for business.
Your Page = Your Business
This is where you can:
- Post updates as your business name
- Get reviews
- Reply to messages professionally
- Run Facebook ads
- Get found by people outside your friends list
Think of it like this:
Your Profile is where you talk to people you already know.
Your Page is how new people discover you.
Can’t I just post work stuff on my personal profile?
Sure, you can.
But only your friends (or friends-of-friends) will see it.
And when they share it, it still shows your name, not a business. That might feel a bit… amateurish.
When people see a proper Page name, a logo, and some business posts, it sends a message:
“This is someone I can hire. Not just a mate doing this on the side.”
One last thing: you still need your Profile to manage your Page.
Facebook requires it. But don’t worry — people won’t see your personal posts. Your profile is just the admin behind the curtain.
And if you work with someone like us, we don’t need your password. We just get access to your Page. That’s how it should be.
How to Set Up a Facebook Business Page (in 3 Minutes)
- Otevřete facebook.com/pages/create
- Choose your Page name — usually just your business name
- Pick a category (e.g. “Plumber”, “Photographer”, “Beauty Salon”)
- Add your phone number, location, and opening hours
- Upload a logo or photo — even a quick phone snap is better than nothing
And that’s it. Your Page is live.
You can skip most of the extra steps Facebook asks for — you can always add more later.
Once your Page exists, you can invite people to follow it, reply to messages, post news, share testimonials, or if you’re working with us — we can start building your campaign.
If you’d like help setting it up or aren’t sure what to call your Page, feel free to drop us a message. It’s part of what we do.
