(And what if I only have a personal profile?)
Short answer:
Yes — you’ll need a Company Facebook Page. But don’t worry — it’s quick, free, and you don’t have to be active on it.
Why do I need a Business Page?
Because Facebook doesn’t allow ads to run from a personal profile.
Every ad must show who it’s from — and that means having a Business (or Company) Facebook Page (or a professional Instagram account).
Even if you’re just promoting your website, Facebook requires some kind of “identity” attached to the ad.
What kind of Page do I need?
Nothing fancy. Just a simple business Page like:
- John Smith – Plumbing Services
- ABC Hair Studio
- Marie’s Cakes Derbyshire
You don’t need to post regularly or collect followers.
You just need something for Meta to connect the ad to.
I already have a personal profile — can’t we use that?
No — personal Facebook profiles can’t be used to run ads.
You can use your personal login to access Meta Business tools, but the public ad must still be tied to a Company Page.
What if I don’t have a Company Page yet?
No problem — we’ll help you create one.
It only takes a few minutes, and we’ll walk you through it step by step.
How to Create a Simple Company Facebook Page
1. Log in to your personal Facebook account
You’ll create the Page from your personal profile — don’t worry, it won’t be connected publicly.
2. Go to facebook.com/pages/create
This takes you directly to the Page setup screen.
3. Choose your Page name
We recommend something clear like:
“John Smith – Plumbing” or “ABC Cleaning Services”
4. Select a category
Type something like Plumber, Electrician, Hair Salon, Coffee Shop, etc.
5. Add your contact info (optional)
Phone number, website, and opening hours — if you want.
6. Add a profile picture
A photo of your logo, van, storefront, or just your face — anything real works.
7. Click “Create Page”
That’s it! You now have a Page we can connect ads to.
